Cost
Free to visit the shrine. Meiji Jingu Gyoen (inner garden) ¥500; Meiji Jingu Museum ¥500.

A simple way to visit

  1. Enter from Harajuku and walk the main approach.
  2. Visit the main shrine, then choose the garden or the museum.
  3. Leave toward Harajuku or Yoyogi depending on your next stop.

Make the most of your visit

Pair it with Harajuku and Omotesando, or with Shibuya in the afternoon. Arrive well before closing in winter.

Rainy-day planning

Gravel paths stay walkable in light rain, but the approach is outdoors. Keep the museum as a sheltered stop.
